The 4.0L V8 biturbo engine of the Audi RS6 and RS7 models is equipped with an indirect charge air cooling circuit. The cooling process of the charge air is therefore not realized with ambient air as usual, but with a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature leads directly to an improved cooling performance of the charge air.
